Creating a positive and healthy workplace

The average person spends more time working than any other daily activity of life, and, over a lifetime, an average of 90,000 hours on the job. Thousand of workers across the world spend their best time at the workplace. But what if a person feels overburdened or burnout due to extended working hours. It might bring down one's productivity and growth. Stress, anxiety and depression are the outcomes of working in a negative environment. Manager and administration play a crucial role in practicing stress-relieving programs or train employees for coping with stress. Increased in stress level due to varied reasons might increase the negative consequences of absenteeism, low productivity, chronic stress, mistrust and change in behavior patterns. The wealth of business depends on the health of workers. Healthy workers ensure great productivity and profits for the organisation. Managers need to look at the safety and health of employees in the workplace. According to the American Psychological Association’s definition of a psychologically healthy workplace, organisations can become healthy by incorporating health promotion activities, offering employee assistance programs, having flexible benefits and working conditions, treating employees fairly, and offering programs for employee development, health and safety, and the prevention of work stress. So, let’s keep an eye on factors that are responsible for maintaining a healthy & positive workplace.

As stated above, work-life balance is the equilibrium between personal and work life. Family, ethics, moral values are as important as the work. They also demand attention, love, care and a positive attitude. Safety at workplace

Equipment, tools and heavy machinery require a proper and regular checks to address technical issues. Proper training should be given to the relevant staff members to analyse the use of hazardous substances and avoid unwanted accidents.

As we know employees are the strongest pillar for any organisation, so their involvement is a must for business growth. Ideas and opinions from every member should be discussed openly in meetings or one-one-ones with supervisors.
